What is a Core Outcome Set?
A Core Outcome Set is a standardised group of the most important outcomes that should be measured and reported in all clinical studies on a specific topic. By using this set, researchers can:
- Ensure consistency across different studies.
- Make it easier to compare and combine results.
- Improve the overall quality of research.
- Focus on outcomes that matter most to patients and healthcare providers.
Why is this important?
Currently, different studies often measure different outcomes, which makes it hard to compare results and learn from them. By agreeing on a standard set of important outcomes, we can enhance the quality and usefulness of future research, ultimately leading to better patient care.
Who are we asking to participate?
We are inviting:
- Patients who have experienced airway management.
- Healthcare Professionals involved in airway management.
- Researchers studying airway techniques and devices.
- Anyone interested or involved in this field.
Your input will help us understand which outcomes are most important to everyone involved.
Do I have to answer every question?
We appreciate that some of these terms may be unfamiliar to you. If that is the case, you can select 'unable to answer'.
How long will the survey take?
The survey consists of two rounds, each taking about 15 minutes:
- Round 1: You'll rate various airway management outcomes based on their importance to you.
- Round 2 (approximately 8 weeks later): You'll revisit your ratings after seeing a summary of how others scored each outcome, allowing you to adjust your responses if you wish.
Your participation matters
We kindly ask you to participate in both rounds. Your continued involvement is crucial for developing a Core Outcome Set that will improve future research and patient care in airway management. By taking part in this survey, you're contributing to important research that aims to improve airway management practices and enhance patient care.
